In 1985 - 1986 the JIM JIM was gutted and rebuilt from stem to stern at Rybovich Boat Works. This refit included every conceivable system on the boat. Everything mechanical was replaced including engines, V-drives, refrigeration, AC, appliances, and so forth. The entire interior was replaced with a lavish use of teak paneling and trim and granite countertops. The galley, electronics, tower, cockpit, covering boards, and engine room were all completely redone. She got a new tower, teak transom, and exterior cabinetry. At the time, she was literally a new boat.
Today she remains in excellent condition having had in excess of $250,000 spent on her during a refit over the last year. She is currently getting the finishing touches on a full awlgrip paint jot and will be finished during March 2019.
